This month
Linda tasked us with making half-square triangle blocks of contrasting values to make a quilt like one of
these. The last time I worked with HSTs was my
first ever quilt (in retrospect, probably not the best idea knowing what I know now about bias edges), so I was excited to try them again now that I know more about fabric and better piecing techniques.
So here are my blocks!
I must say, I'm quite please with my center points. I don't think my points have ever matched that well, except maybe when
paper piecing.
Such pristine piecing! I am braving up to do some HSTs soon - which method do you use? Also - here is the fabric int he second one: http://freespiritfabric.com/core-pages/gallery.php?gal_id=455&sw_id=7106
ReplyDeleteciao Jess!
These are wonderful, Jess! And isn't it amazing to realize how much we learn over time by revisiting a technique after many moons? I look forward to seeing these guys in person and am glad that you were open to playing with HSTs again!
